Kinesiology is the science of human movement applying the latest evidenced-based research to improve function, health and wellness of people in all settings and populations. Kinesiologists are University trained professionals that are committed to enhancing quality of life through physical activity, the prevention and treatment of injury and chronic disease and the overall improvement of health and fitness.
At Novo Healthnet, Kinesiologists work with clients in a variety of circumstances. Some clients have been injured through work or motor vehicle accidents and require specific rehabilitative training to return to their pre-injury status. Clients may have chronic diseases such as diabetes or a heart condition and physical activity can help to make a improvement in their health. Sports is a focus at Novo Healthnet and sports injury training is a large component of our Kinesiologists role. There are some clients as well, that would like to be in better overall shape and improve their health without a specific injury or disease and we also work to help this population.
